In 2009 I decided it was time for Tori to get to see some of our beautiful country. In a three week period we traveled to all four corners of the country. We first headed south to Cork where we visited Fota Wildlife Park, brilliant day mixing with the animals. That week we also headed east to Bray and climbed up Bray head to the cross. While out there we visited Sealife and got to see feeding time for the piranhas and sharks…!
We then headed to the top of the country and visited Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge and The Giants Causeway. You don’t get much more north than that! At least not in Ireland anyway! This was then followed up that week by a trip out west to Co. Mayo and a short hop on the ferry over to Clare Island where we stayed a couple of nights. The great Pirate Queen Grace O’Maley once ruled this Island and the ferry (The Island Princess) was named after her.
We also took in a visit to Westport House Gardens & Adventure Park while in Mayo. During this three weeks we also squeezed in a trip to Viking world down at Christ Church (haven’t been there since I was a nipper), a trip on the Viking Splash tour, Buggy World in Kildare to drive buggies and bikes, a couple of the Dublin museums, the National Aquatic Centre and some other places. If we keep going like this we will have every attraction in Ireland covered in a couple of years…!
We have some photos in our Gallery, go to this page and under August 2010, see link for Trips 2009.
